This is my favorite picture of Bianca and I Alex (left) and Charcoal "the boys"      I am a mom to a talented and beautiful 15 year old teenager, Bianca. We have 3 cats and 1 dog. Unfortunately, they all don't get along with each other (I mean the animals!), but we figured ways to get around that.  I am blessed to have a daughter who is respectful and confident in herself. She is my best friend, my date, and my reason for living, but I am first and foremost her mother. I believe if you treat your children with respect, respect you will get back. It is a philosophy that has worked for us and I hope it continues.  I am not oblivious to the fact that this can change at a moments notice. I am enjoying her and her friends wanting to be around for no other reason than to hang out.  I know things will change when she goes to college. This blog can be given credit to my friend Johnny. I was perusing his Facebook profile and came upon 3 posts that he had penned with regard to what was occurring in his life at that time. One of which was regarding a friend that had passed of cancer.  It struck me how courageous he was for telling a story that we are all guilty of. Not being there when we know our friend needs us most. It is hard for us as individuals to know what to say to someone who knows they are dying.  It is not a subject that is easy for us to talk about. We want to be positive and tell them that everything will be ok and will work out in the end.  But that is not everyone's happy ending. It doesn't always work out in the end and that is the hardest part of that relationship. It doesn't seem so important to talk about the basketball game or the latest news report. It's easier to not be there then sit in a room and feel extremely uncomfortable for not knowing the right thing to do. I am just as gu...
